Bedrooms

Every home has a room dedicated to our personal belongings and a private place to find either solace, rest, or intimacy. Sometimes we share our bedrooms, or we’ve had moments in our life when we had to. Whether that be during our childhood with our siblings, or the first time you have to share a room with a stranger, or if we find a partner to make a home with. Occasionally this can be a place of your own to find comfort and solitude depending on your situation or point of life. In this body of work I explore the rooms where my loved ones, friends, and family reside and rest. This series of self portraits was photographed using a 4x5 large format view camera and analog process /development of film, as well as large scale darkroom printing. Printed at 16” x 20” these deeply rich photographs display the rooms within my parents, grandma, and partners childhood homes as I invade their space and insert myself inside their bedrooms.
