Deconstruction of Woman
Purchase College 1019a Gallery, Exhibition March 2015
A collaborative interdisciplinary installation by partners Allison Panzironi & Shi Tingo commenting on gender issues, body dysphoria and body dysmorphia. The joint body of work is a unified force in its critique and reaction to the oversexualized feminine representation throughout the decades of American media, culture and society. The work on display by young artists, Panzironi & Tingo, has been created in a range of processes and materials such as; fabrics, hair, metal, plaster, latex, silicone, wax and nylon, as well as mixed-media collages and analog photography. Deconstruction of Woman is a personal response on how the creators have processed the consistently insane standards for femme presenting individuals over generations of adolescence and young adulthood.
